I've been blown into a new era

One of my friends gave me a bag containing 6 tuber roots of the finest Jerusalem artichokes. So, having never eaten artichoke, I boiled 2 and tucked in. Rather nice. Rather interesting too as you enjoy them the next day as well!! They truly are a food to be enjoyed by all.

As to the other 4 tubers, they are going in the garden behind my potato patch. Fantastic.

Join the club!! If you should like to try some fairly smooth ones in the 'backend ' of the year, I'll post some off so that you can see the difference between some of the clonal variaties. There are some from the Gower peninsula which are very tasty, but rather knobbly and can be a bu**er to clean. Good roughage though! ::)

Keep on trumping, Bill.

Mmmmmm fartichokes - I love them.  I have to clear my 'bed later this year - it is falling down - and if you want some of these you can have them.

What exactly are you trying to say here, mate. You may have heard about the big bloke in NY who died from suffocation in his bed.. not by artichokes, but beans. Also, please be careful out there, or you could end up with those roques from another post breaking into your room to syphon that gas, its powerful stuff.

Finally got out into the garden this weekend and those four fartichokes are now buried, percolating under the soil. I expect a tremendous gust of growth with all this rain. I cant wait!

Guys, thanks for the offers of some of yours - I'll endeavour to follow up later this year. I like growing things. Just a shame I cant grow a new bike  :(
