I sense a deal that's rather too good to be true. ISO9002 is a quality system standard. You can make toilet paper to ISO9002. Why would you note this on a brake pad?
There is no proper standard for brake pads. This is for the simple reason no one can agree. The big boys (company I work for included) would like to go E-marked. The problem is you would then be unable to legally buy linings for your Model T Ford, VW Beetle, Ural etc. You'd have to buy them marked for application (so you'd pay what we decide to sell 'em for
). The UK being stupid would probably require you to present a Ford V5 to buy the Ford pads you know also fit a Vauxhall etc. The lack of a standard is therefore in many ways a good thing as you get a choice other than the ones the OEM picked. It does however require the sensible vehicle user not to buy Chinese knock-offs, which these might well be
On a totally unrelated subject I can get you a chinese made trailer ABS system for £150. The European made version retails at over £500. This is because my employers and their major competitors use a circuit board to control the wheel slip. The chinese pirates use a timed relay to turn off the warning light in the required sequence, the circuit board is otherwise empty.
