XT 225 SEROW spark plug
« on: February 18, 2014, 05:35:57 PM »
Just bought a 1993 xt225 Serow and haven't yet got hold of a manual for it. Anyone out there able to tell me what spark plug should be in it? Its got a D8EA at the moment but I think that's wrong. Also if anyone has a spare Haynes Manual ? Thanks.

Just Googled it (xt225 Serow spark plug) - DR8EA is the standard plug, but there are also performance plugs available.

Aye oldveloman,

Go to this site and read the info, there are opotentialy 2 Serow XT225 models manufactured in 1993! This is the list for the 93-97 Japanese model.

Wemoto_information_ngk

Just enter "Serow XT225" into the website 'SEARCH' to view the other models and range of spares.

Hope this helps.

My regards, Bill.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have learned some new things about spark plugs and it seems the one fitted is not actually wrong but is not a resistor type. Have replaced anyway with the recommended resistor plug. Now I have to sort out the broken plastic collar where the choke cable enters the carb 'cos its leaking air into the carb. Doesn't make for smooth running!
