Aye

I remember going to Chesham fair with my Mum Dad and Sister - Dad used to get 10/- out specially for the evening - and we would have chips on the way home...

Half of Europe have car MOT's every 2 years and nothing at all on bikes on the basis that we aren't going to risk killing ourselves. UK gov know when they are on to a good thing if you ask me! They could just bung the £27 on the road tax and save us all some time and petrol!

MOT your car every two years?

You should come to london, i think i'm the only one who bothers with MOT's.

Come to think of it i'm the only one here with a licence as well!

I may be wrong here - but I think the IoM does not have an MOT or simnilar - just a reule that if you have an accident and your car is not roadworthy then you are nailed to a wall and beaten with a kipper or the like.

Seem more reasonable - rather than once a year having a test, having a continual requirement to keep the machine in good order.  Oh we have that as well.
