back from the TT
« on: June 11, 2007, 11:14:49 AM »
Made it back in one peice. no accidents and the bike still running.
Met up with steve and his crew and Richard with his bmw twin.
Apart from Mad sunday weather was good.
If it wasn't for the death of three people in the last race the week would have been perfect.

Tested the bike to the limits, covering 1200 miles in 10 days

Ramsey sprint best times over an 8th mile was 9.51 secs and terminal speed of 76mph probable the slowest bike out there. but what the h*ll.
Managed to pull 104mph up the mountain and a shade under 100 on hailwood rise, not bad for a 20 year old single.
Richard on his bavarian twin said it was faster but not on my clock

Engine now very rattily and has had occasional clutch slip problems since the sprint but worth it for the enjoyment I had

Thanks to all I met up with both in and out of the club. Did manage to get 5srx 2sr's and one srx with an sr500 engine in one photo (I hope the french sr riders manage to send us the copy)

Now back to work and reality

Was a good week wasn't it.....excellent afternoon at the pub in Kirk, all our srx's  (and 2 sr's) created quite a bit of interest.

I too was upset to hear the news of that accident on the mountain......the rider was a local lad, lives about 6 miles from me
35 ish married with two daughters.... it's the dark side of our sport... and with two spectators killed and two marshals injured it must rank as one of the worst accidents on the TT course

Not doing that one meant i had no contact details for later in the week.Glad you all seem to have had a good time,i tried, but the "Sword of Damacles" over my head (or the upcoming Court Appearance-as it should be termed) was on my mind all the while.Hey Ho.Catch you all later.
