Aye lordmoonpie,

Found your wbsite that has the full spec of said Ikuzawa, last updated in 2018!

As for leads to finding/conversing with Aled, I have visited the website of Aberdare Park and their race regulations are available for the 2026 season. So, I'll paste the contact details for the race regulations for this coming season, 2026 and let you take it from there.  ;)

Contact details for the Aberdare Park race meeting 2026:

Best of luck and good health, BillR

Good afternoon lord moonpie. It’s Michael who bought the Ikuzawa off Graham a few years ago now. Yes it was Aled I sold the bike to but sadly, having checked. I no longer have any contact details for him. Yes he was definitely involved with the Aberdare race, that’s pretty much all I can remember.
Sorry I can’t be of any help. Best of luck with tracking it down. I too definitely regret selling it, but at the time I was recovering from a pretty serious accident and my head quite clearly wasn’t in the right place 🙄
Hope it all works out for you.
Oh and please keep me posted if you manage to track it down 🤞🤞
Cheers, Michael

I posted on the FB group and was recommended to repost here, so here goes...

My first race bike was a Harris Honda, or Ikuzawa Honda that I bought off a racing buddy that I previously had pit crewed for. He used the money to add to funds that led to him buying a Matchless G50, which he then went and killed himself on racing in the Isle of Man.
After racing the XBR based single for a bit I decided to get married and needed to raise funds for the wedding. The Ikuzawa was the only thing of value I owned at the time so it was put up for sale and duly purchased by Thumper Club luminary, Graham Carrick.
Graham sold it on eventually and at some point Michael (?) bought it, user Moto63 on here. Michael also then sold it, I don't know if this was when it was last sold off the stand at the Stafford show, but it ended up going to a chap called Aled, who was involved in the Wales TT circuit proposal on the old MOD roads, which I think was near Epynt?
I did manage to speak to Aled on the phone, probably just after he bought the bike and he didn't want to sell but a disk crash on my PC wiped the only number I had for him and so I have no idea how to contact him.
I believe he may also be involved in organising the Aberdare Park road races but am unsure of that connection.

The little Ikuzawa Harris Honda has great sentimental value to me as you might expect and I've chased it hoping to buy it back for a long time now but always seem to be one step behind it. If anyone knows where the bike is, who owns it now or has contact details for Aled so I can see if he still has it I would appreciate any leads whatsoever. I am not giving up - she's out there somewhere!

Can you help....?

What junk? All I can see is a lovely red torpedo shaped sidecar body and mudguard 👍
Looking good Ian, all starting to take shape, roll on those sunny days.
£675 sounds very reasonable to me for the amount of work and paint he must have put into it
Cheers, Michael

Quick pic of the painted body and mudguard. The paint shop (Lee at Painttech in Bromsgrove - https://painttechrepairs.co.uk/) has done a really nice job and the colour match to the bike is just about perfect. I'm leaving it for a week or so to fully harden before applying the chrome strips, tonneau clips etc.

Cost £675 which sounds a lot but given the work involved I think was very reasonable, as was the £40 each way transport by a local man & van. Shiply and anyvan wanted over £150 to take it about 10 miles which is about what I paid to have the whole lot brought from Wisbech to Redditch. And that by a proper bike removal bloke (Phil from Acceleration) who really knows his stuff.

Please ignore all the junk in the shed!

Bike Problems/Questions / Re: TPS on Suzuki DZR400
« Last post by iansoady on March 05, 2026, 09:49:38 AM »
I've discovered that there's a bit missing which is a small plastic component with tongues on both sides to engage in the slots. Must have been left out by a PO as I dismantled it with care and am sure there wasn't one in there. As it happens, they were in stock at the place I ordered the cable operated choke from so have ordered one. I'm not actually convinced the choke and TPS can actually cohabit the very limited space that's there so have made a blanking cap to use if necessary. I am told by one authority I don't need the TPS and by another that I do.......

Looks to me like the outer prongs, on the carb, slot into the outer/slots holes in the tps. The bevel edges on the prongs would suggest this as well.
