Morning Michael,

I am assuming that the XL500 you are refering to is this board tracker?

Link: abc-500-future-boardtracker (https://rocket-garage.blogspot.com/2019/10/abc-500-future-boardtracker.html)

Engineering appears good, but not really my cup of tea.

Good health, Bill

Wow! Google had to fill in some gaps for me;

"Investment casting is a manufacturing process in which a wax pattern is coated with a refractory ceramic material. Once the ceramic material is hardened its internal geometry takes the shape of the casting. The wax is melted out and molten metal is poured into the cavity where the wax pattern was."

As you do when fettling bike stuff... 8)

Only just had a peep at this. Wow! Just wow!

Reminiscent of Son of a Gun. I'd have to lose a stone to look even half cool on that 🤣

I work in a foundry but we specialise in shell moulding and airset using non ferrous mainly LG2, some LG4 and Al bronze.🤔
