Only a few weeks to my second Catterick Hill Climb. My trusty GN is all ready ( it`s always ready ) I was going to try different gearing but decided to stick with the present 14/41. Worked ok last time and it had a misfire at about 7500 to 7700, then it was ok to 9k. After some modifications to the airbox (holes made) and a new plug, plus a quiet road with vast amounts of carb cleaner sprayed into air filter at high revs it is now revving clean to 9500. Also I will look resplendent in new (to me) black leathers instead of my gaudy red and white santa outfit. I hope it`s not as cold as last year and please don`t let it rain.

Well... a dry ride to the hill climb, then it just got worse, the track was quite wet and skitey but we all played nice anyway. The mighty GN carried me to 30th place overall out of 54, most of my runs were about two seconds slower than last year because of wet but I did manage to be 2nd fastest in the road class, out of four so I`m happy. The others were a 400/4 and a 550/4 and the fastest was a Thumper ! a Yamaha XT600e. A good day out even though we only got three timed runs each, memo to rider, lose weight from bike and rider.. !
