Aye Steve,

A K2!  ;)

1986 and only 28,500 Km on the clock. It did the Colombres Rally in 2016 and 2017, was laid up before and after. Usual sludge in the sump, removed with the paraffin gun on the airline. New 20w50 synthetic gone in.

Forks poggo rather than absorb ripples, had the front end wash out a couple of times on ripples, mid corner!  :o   :-[  Brown underware! A new stanchion and seals had been fitted and I suspected some heavy duty fork oil. Sure enough, upon enquiry "SAE30" !  :o  No wonder I was having a vibro massage and washouts. So dropped the evil green fluid and have put 200ml of SAE10 in and see how we go.

Would you please ask #1 son what length his spring preload inserts in the forks are, please? They are a good bit longer than those in the Duke and the springing is fairly stiff. But these Marzocchi forks always are stiffly sprung.

Apologies to others that this is a cilindro gemellato!  ;)

Sorry to read about a "tap, tap, tap" in #1's engine. Top or bottom end?  :-\

Have a good run and hopefully find a punter for #6.

Slainte, Bill

Aye Steve,

Midinaitalia bought all of the spares, whilst Stuart's son now runs a bijou car and motorcycle emporium, 'Lussoveloce', from the old NLM address.

I'll see how it goes! :)

I'll check with #1 son today r.e. fork spring spacers for the 3 1/2 sport Bill, i have a feeling the staunchions on your K2 may be longer than the 350's, but who am i to speak, i'm no expert (on anything really :-) ),.

Aye, think you might be right about that. However, just been out for a canter afore the Senior Classic TT and the 200cc of SAE10 has made a big difference to the front end. Now firmly sprung and damped, but no pattering.  ;D

Revs out really well and can pick up it's skirts when required, with a bit of gearbox stirring. Happy to sit at 60 - 80mph in 6th, with a comfy, but wide saddle and Verlicchi swan neck clip-ons set back a bit. The wide saddle is a problem as Kat finds it difficult to get both feet down, as she can on the BROS. However, she is going to give it a go!  ;)

Hope you both have a grand day.

My regards, Bill
