I'm liking the stories about the classic cars (see " I wonder...") as I too am a fan but to come back to the bikes my 38 year old Honda got me safely back from work last night in torrential rain without missing a beat. It had sailed through the MOT last week too although I believe when its 40 it will no longer need tax and MOT. The bike is wearing its age a lot better than the rider!

Lovely bike and it makes riding an older bike a real working proposition. I bought a 1981 Suzuki GN400 a while back and the quality was amazing, when I worked on it absolutely everything was easy to disassemble with no rusted nuts and bolts etc. Have to have it to the Japanese they build well put together bikes that last.

Always liked the 250RS and when the V50 gets too much (hopefully a long time in the future) one would certainly be on the shopping list.

Yes I always fancied a V50 and have missed a couple by sheer bad luck. I like the Guzzis but the larger ones tend to be heavy. Sold my 2014 V7 to Michael (Moto63) and that was a great bike too.The RS250 is the bike I hope to keep into old age as they are so light and easy to ride .The only thing I don't like is the transmission is a bit snatchy. There are 2 types of cush drive-mine has the earlier set up so i'm guessing that's why MR. Honda changed it on the "D" (de-luxe) model with the electric start.

Just to throw my hat into the ring, I bought a new cb250rs waaay back in 1980. Rode the wheels off the thing covering a good few thousand miles on it. Absolutely loved that bike, eventually sold it to big bro (propellor) and I moved up to a new xbr500 that was 1986. Cracking little bike and soooo much better than the lardy wet... eerr super dream 😁👍..l cheers, Michael
