A bat and a ball cost £1.10 in total. The bat costs £1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
Answer tomorrow....if I remember 🙄☹️

Consider a certain amount of grey matter truly tested.......
Or was it?
-
I thought the answer was 42 :( ;)
-
Well if it makes you all feel really clever, I'm still trying to work it out. Run out of fingers though 😉😉
-
Me neither. This is doing my head in! ???
-
The "automatic" reply is 10p. But that is 10p more than the bat......
I think I have seen it before somewhere so probably have an advantage.
As we're on games, most will have seen this but it's interesting nevertheless:

I got the number of passes correct but I didn't notice the gorilla.....bugga. I'm too selective 🙄🧐
-
You're not supposed to mention that......
-
Ok, now the grey matter is well and truly flexed another to try ......though you may have heard this one before..... :-\ :-\
"You’re in a room with two doors. There’s a guard at each door. One door is the exit, but behind the other door is something that will kill you. You’re told that one guard always tells the truth and the other guard always lies. You don’t know which guard is which. You are allowed to ask one question to either of the guards to determine which door is the exit.
What question should you ask?"
-
Is the question
"Why can I never remember the question even though I've heard this one before?"

You ask the guard which door will kill me.
-
There's always one smart alec'y kid in the classroom isn't there 😉😉
-
You ask one guard which the other one would tell you would kill you. If you ask the one who tells the truth, he will be told that the safe door is the killer and will tell you that. If you ask the one who lies, he will be told that it's the one that kills so will tell you that it's the safe one. So you choose the one you're told will kill you.
-
Ok... in this case there's clearly two smart Alec'y kids in the class 😁😁😉

SO.... there's an English cat, called one two three four and a French cat called un deux trois quatre ...They have a swimming race across a river... they English cat wins. WHY??

That's basically it.
You ask either guard which door the other guard would tell you is safe -
If you ask the lying guard he will know the other guard will tell the truth so he will tell you a lie.
If you ask the truth guard he will know the other guard will tell a lie so to tell you the truth he will also tell you the lie.
So whatever you are told by either guard is a lie so pick the other door!

Sorry Pete, not correct on this occasion. However, Ian you can hold your head high. Correctamundo.
I got it off my 12year old boy the other day so thought it shud fit in nicely on the "test the grey matter" thread 🤣😉🤘
