On our recent jaunt down to deepest Dorset, myself, Bob, and Crazyfrog had had enough of the stifling hot sticky weather, so sensibly pulled off the road for a light libation at a local hostelry listed in the GBG. The pub was the Hollybush in Westbury, near Warminster. On returning to our bikes, a friendly chap had pulled in on his brand new Triumph 1200 Scrambler, and we had a chat. He then offered his local knowledge to guide us on the next leg of our journey to Compton Abbas Airfield, by the backroads, so we had a lovely tour of the Deverils and Zig Zag Hill! His name is John, and he lives a couple of doors away from said Hollybush. What a top bloke :D

Nice one Tim and he does sound like a nice bloke. It's great when you meet those sort of character along the way isn't it, sort of restores your faith in humanity.
Sounds like a really nice jaunt as well glad you all enjoyed it.
Here's to more encounters of the good kind.

Yes, that really started the weekend off on the right foot didn't it? And to cap it all, when we got to Compton Abbas Airfield, Robin of this parish stood the three of us tea and cakes at the café. Top man ;D

Great story fellas.
My maiden voyage on the little Z250 was in TT week. On a quiet backroad near my village the little Z broke down about a mile from home. It`s pretty flat so I just pushed it home. On the way four Manx registered cars drove past me, I think one driver even gave me a nod? About 100 yards from home, three visiting bikers stopped to see if I was OK. I was and even more chuffed they stopped to ask.
So yes, as per title …. bikers are lovely people. :) :) :)
