Title: 6 versus 12
Post by: Ian on April 26, 2019, 11:37:46 PM
No nothing to do with batteries.....
Just wanted opinions on 6 point versus 12 point sockets.
Any thoughts, feelings or experiences?

6 point grip better but can be awkward to position. 12 point easy to get on but unless a good fit can damage the hexagon.

Flank drive? https://www.snapon.com/Industrial-Certification/Aviation-Tools/Hand-Tools/Flank-Drive-Sockets

They're supposed to be the best but by the time I found out I was fully kitted out......

Are they like the AWD Sockets/spanners - all wall drive, ie they grip the middle of each nut face rather than the corners?

Those are great! Had a cheap set of them as combi spanners for >20 years, and bought some single sockets shen things were very stuck (use with impact driver, or breaker bar + scaffold pole.

They also work for metric or imperial sizes...handy if you run a mixed fleet!
