Title: THIS is a ******!
Post by: themoudie on March 05, 2019, 08:12:47 PM
If someone pays £8,000 for this heap of *******e, then the "Classic" motorcycle "thing" needs avoiding!  >:( >:( >:(

Steve (Manxie) thought £3,500 was expensive for the MKIII 350 Scrambler!  :-\  Looks cheap when compared with what is on offer in this ad.  ::)

Link to Ducati 350 "Desmo"?: Ducati_350_"Desmo"? (https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1065431)

Comments, rude or otherwise welcome!  ;)

My regards, Bill

This kind of utter crap is exactly why I am no longer interested in the 'classic' bike world. People are seriously deluded when it comes to pricing anything older than 10 years it seems and as always the word investment comes up.

The sad thing is that out there somewhere is a bigger idiot who in a fit of nostalgia will pay that money and then pay as much again to have the bike restored and then think it is worth £20,000.

Bring back the days when old meant cheap and crap was just crap!

Ian

;D ;D ;D £8K  :o :o You`re right Bill, the one I looked at was a bargain in comparison! Even at £800 I think the one on carandclassic would be over priced  :o

There's wanting and getting. If he waits 10 years he may get his 8k - that's if the remains of the bike haven't completely dissolved into rust by then  ::). What a joker!  :o

Same thing is happening with the price of sidecar outfits.  A sidecar used to maybe add a grand to the price of the bike at best.  Now people seem to think it should double it or more, going by the asking prices on ebay anyway.

this is the classic bike world today. the bike community has spent 20 years riding stuff that they havent needed to lay a spanner on, nobody learned to fix anything, so anything thats remotely non stock becomes premium priced, sidecars are tricky to fit and set up, its not rocket science, just basic spannering, but we live in a world where people pay dealers to change light bulbs and are incapable of replacing a spark plug.
having said that, i wouldnt give them 8 grand for that thing if it was running and mint, ffs its a 1970 ducati 250, its not like its a moto giro eligible 50's bike. they will have that on their site for a decade if thats the price thyre set on.
