Title: A Collection!
Post by: themoudie on January 21, 2019, 12:41:24 PM
After the 3XV post, this can only be described as a "Collection" raised from the Bedford Levels!  ::)

eBay: 254084975257

My regards, Bill

Bill.... you obviously have a low opinion of our wonderful bedford levels  :D,

this just has to be someone who's got all the cr*p out of their shed/workshop/garage.... then bolted it all together

probably on a dark night, maybe when they got back from the pub...

having said all that, if it fetches under 300 quid, its worth it just for the engine and carbs. pair of amal gp's will be worth a few quid on their own. id throw the rest of it back in his face mind. particularly those 'custom' engine studs!

Those carbs don't look like GPs to me. If they were, a pair would be "worth" the thick end of £1,000.

sorry, not gp's, i agree theyd be worth more than all his threaded bar collection put together, concentrics was the word that my brain said and my fat typing fingers meshed into gp's..... having said that, list price for concentrics is over 175 quid each!

If I had the money I'd buy that just to put it down humanely and give it a decent burial.

Actually, I'm sure many of us here have had similarly ill-conceived piles of rubbish. I remember with some horror an ES2 engine in an Enfield frame that a "friend" of mine palmed off on me. The primary chaincase didn't have a rear section so the chain stretched like elastic, not helped by the gearbox not having any provision for adjustment. When I went over a bump, the back chain sawed a chunk out of the oil tank. But it still carried 2 of us for hundreds of miles before I saw sense and found a rigid Norton frame for it.

Ha ha like it Steve. I would but I'd worry that is any part of that poor tortured thing was left above ground it would do some kind of Stephen King thing and resurrect itself!

In answer to your question Ian, no definitely not I have never had an abomination like that. The worst I ever did was put a 250 twin port JAWA motor into a 125 CZ frame. That actually made quite a nice bike.

its at 300 quid now and still not met its reserve. bonkers. i suspect that people are bidding for the engine and carbs cos the rest is worthless. thee fucking engine isnt even properly bolted into the frame.

There you go Steve, £450! :o :o :o :-X

Got yur whittling knife 'andy?  :-\

I suspect breaking the motor and flogging it, the carbies, and the tank, whilst giving the remains a descent burial back into the Levels would show a healthy profit of at least 20%, which is better than sticking it in a savings account.

Email sent regarding "end float"!  ;)

Toodle pip, Bill
