Did anyone see the Cagiva Mito in MCN this week thata gonna be built in India. Looks like the frame from the small bike but they are going to fit I think it s a 600 or a 650 single in it. Should be quiet a cheap good bike.???

Nah, the single will be 500 and the 650 will be the SV650 (generic) engine and Yes they look great! If only !

Yup - I thought that it was going to be a 650 single - the one they had shown about was a 500+ single, but seems they intend to use the Korean (is it) SV650 V twin copy, which is nice and a nice idea but I was hoping for a sports single, there are a number of V twins in the same class if not price - the SV650, the hoyshung (spelling) copy, the soon to arrive Aprilla Shiver, small Ducati monsters etc, but nothing to take the place of the small screaming 2-stroke in the hearts of who ever - and I think a well priced 500+ single would possibly fill that role - accepting that Aprilla cannot put the 550 V twin they have into tyhe RS250 frame as the engine needs rebuilt every 38 seconds.

Someone built a cagiva mito/dr600 supermono racer here in france as a project that was documented in a mag. Sadly the chassis cracked at the headstock from the stress after its first race and had to be re-tig welded significantly, Ive seen another cagiva mito with a dr600 in it as a street bike built by a dutch guy, but again he was having stress cracks on the frame and was talking about using a smaller engine to try and help the frame survive.
Maybe they found a big old single vibes were a bit too much for the alloy frame to withstand hence the smoother vtwin lump. The motor out of my xt project was originally built to go in a cr250 frame to make a dirt thumper, but it destroyed two of the lightweight alloy frames within a year, hence it got rehoused in the xt steel chassis.
Pity as I do like a nice alloy framed thumper...

PB Magazine are building a Mito to hold a Honda CRF450 crosser engine. Some old guy has also got a 1996 Mito using an Xt660Z (fuel injected) lump - bet that goes well.

i have similar plans , not as powerful but , after next year when the warranty runs out i thought i could need a
better looking frame
so i looked around and found this one originally a 125 but i bet i can fit in my honda 250 engine easy

Yeah I've seen one of these in the 'flesh' but the swing arm is a real piece of crap design!
