Thought I would post this link, as I know there is the odd Royal Enfield owner on the TC forum. Mind you, I have found all RE owners to be odd.

I let out the odd laugh, stifled the odd tear. Tapped my foot in an odd, syncopated beat to "the bullet is my life".

Looking forward to seeing the numbers rise on the odd-o-meter. 😂😂

Aye Tim, bit of a story there. As you know I'm friendly with a car/bike dealer up Armoy direction,who have a great collection of British road and race bikes. Anyway, he gives me a phone call. He knows I have a soft spot (my head) for exotic machinery. A bike he has just taken in on a part exchange and I have first refusal. 2005 Royal Enfield 350 Bullet, RH gearchange, kickstart only, Craven panniers, Rickman top box and a practical sized screen as well. All this with less than 4K miles. Close to mint condition and a good price. Jumps on the bike and off I go. Arrives at the showroom and inside I spots a Royal Enfield, not the one I've come to view, but a Continental GT535 with various bells and whistles fitted. Few months old and 600 miles on the speedo. I knew what was going to happen before I got the helmet off. Logic kicked in, if I got both, one of them is bound to start. (I bought my first Oilfield in 1969, so I know about standing at the side of a road). Two for one, or buy one get one free, whatever. Chopped in the Honda against the pair of them. Riding home I was content. Safe in the knowledge when reality dawned on what I had just done, I just have to increase my medication.

Always good to hear of someone joining/re-joining the Enfield clan. I love the mighty Enfield and it is fast becoming a machine of legend amongst my biking mates as the mileage increases and nothing fails. 16000 since February and climbing. My odder bike (see what I did there Prop?) is a BMW K100 project that I am going to sell I think as I realised I wouldn't ride it much as I love the Enfield too much.

Enjoy both of your new toys.
