Title: 1938 Velo MAC
Post by: themoudie on August 31, 2018, 09:54:15 PM
I have just received this image.

1938 MAC, bored and stroked by owner to 400cc and weighs in at 100Kg!

I do not have the skill and really appreciate the attention to detail that has gone into this complete rebuild

And "No", I am no spilling the beans on where it resides. Just enjoy the simplicity, tidiness, and finish.

My regards, Bill

That would look a lot better if it was in my garage!

An update on the Velo.

I understand that it could be appearing in the October 2018 issue of 'Real Classic' and with a price in the September issue! No, I don't have shares in 'Real Classic'.

No ad in the September issue (unless it's from a dealer). What usually happens is a eulogistic report on a bike which the owner says he will never sell followed a month later by a "for sale" ad......

Or an equally enthusiastic report from Mr Westworth about some bike or other which just happens to be for sale by one of his pet dealers.

Having said that, it's still a good mag and I enjoy reading Frank's trials and tribulations in the shed.

But then I'd have miles to go to ride my bike! Let's stick to plan A and put it in my garage.

To avoid conflict I'll have it.

Spoken like a true gentleman.

By the way Ian I share your views of Real Classic. I like it and have recently re-subscribed but had a long lay off when it seemed to turn into 'what expensive old bike will Frank buy next?' Shame really as when it started it often featured £100 specials, which I love.

Rest assured this is no dealer job, Mr Westworth hasn't written the spiel, there are no eulogies and the money from the sale goes towards another project, which if you think this Velo is good then be patient for the next!  ;)

The spec list for this MAC is good, it has been thoroughly road tested and has Oomph! and is meant to be used, not posed  ;)
