It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you that Ifor from south Wales, passed away in his sleep last night. Along with many others who knew him, I am totally devastated.
Ifor was one of life's few remaining true characters, and I enjoyed his company greatly. He will be greatly missed by all of us who spent time at rallies with him. My thoughts are with Mark, Hillary, and all of Ifor's family.

Well....I wasn't expecting that news, what a shame.
I was asking Mark where Ifor was when he didn't go to the NI meet in April.

Bit of a shock to hear about the passing of Ifor. A real one off. Some interesting yarns with him over the years. Hard to believe I won't see him again.

It's characters like Ifor who enrich this increasingly dull & mundane life we lead. My condolences to his family & friends...

RIP Ifor. Condolences to his family and friends
Met him a few times over the years and as the rest have said he was definitely a character and did things his own way - reminded me of the late Bruce Pollard. You could always guarantee he would turn up to a rally on something interesting.
Regards
Tony

.......Ifor's funeral will take place on Monday at 4pm......
I would have liked to be there and say goodbye, but my Mother's funeral is on the same day, then Pat and I are off to Hull to start our trip to Italy on the Guzzi.
I'm sure we can have a drink to celebrate Ifor at the TC annual rally.

Ifor's funeral was an extremely emotive affair. Indian Tim said some very heartfelt words about the wee man, There was a big turn out of bikes, both local and from far afield that packed the small street in Pont Henri in the blazing afternoon soon. Lots of old familiar faces of the TC and friends.
Then we all rode in convey behind the hearse to the crematorium. The hearse and family car pulled up, and all the bikes streamed in. Probably a hundred I reckon. As the hearse drove in everybody revved their engines enthusiastically to say goodbye.
Unfortunately. I couldnt stay for the do afterwards, or the camping at Mark and Hillary's as I wasn't feeling up to it. And Ifor had the last laugh, as as I headed for home, a horrible rattle started on the bike. The revving the nutts off it at the crematorium had shaken my exhaust headers loose! The hundred odd mile blast across Wales on empty roads, in the warm evening sun, seemed an apt finish to the day.
I stopped on the way home at the Red Lion for a curry and a pint and sat in the evening sun quietly reflecting on the man that was Ifor.

So sorry to hear about Ifor, and really sorry to have missed his funeral. I've only just found this thread.
He was so full of beans last time I saw him at the XT rally. What a great shame. A proper character and a lovely chap to spend time with. He will be missed a great deal.
Rest in peace.
