From this Thursday I will no longer be living in NI, as I am moving to the lovely little market town of Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
So will that make me a Salopian, or, as its a Wolverhampton postcode, a Yam Yam ;)
-
Almost forgot. I will of course still be organising and attending the Shepherds Rest weekend 20 to 22 April :)
-
Welcome to Shropshire Tim.....(We dont like the word Salop or even Salopian really....esp as it can be confused with a rather unsavoury french word)
Ian :)

Congratulations Tim, glad its worked out.

Yes best of luck with your move Tim. Will you still be able to keep your bikes in the living room of your new gaff? 😁😁👍
Cheers, Michael

Funny you should mention that. Its only a two bedroom terrace, with a small backyard, but of the eleven houses I looked at, it was the only one where I could get a bike, or three indoors :D
Ill only have the Dommie there to start with though.

Whey hey, I can remember you saying you fancied Bridgnorth when we were at Bishop's Castle last year. Pleased to hear it's all worked out for ya. :)
Bridgnorth is a cracking little town, and an ace place for a pub crawl too. ;)

Shalom Tim and peace be on your new home. Hopefully see you at the Bomber Command ride in for a natter.

Thanks folks. Settling in well so far. My address is 5 Salop Street, and all are welcome. I have no on street parking but reckon I can squeeze bikes through my entrance into my secure yard. If you want to stop over, you will need your own bedding as i have no furniture. Or call in for a cuppa. Just txt or phone me first to check im there, 07950 179966 :)

You know me too well Pete! One of the first things I looked into before moving here was the proximity of my local Speedway. I hope to be a regular supporter once I get back from the Shep Rest :)
-
Aahhh.... those were the daze, early 70's myself n big bro propeller used to go to odsal staidium to watch Bradford barons speedway.... until the stock cars knackered the track, great memories. Wish we still had a local speedway to go watch. Love to take my little lad. I'm no longer living in Bradford, in fact not even in Yorkshire anymore. I'm actually near Burnley in Lancashire if anyone knows of a local'ish speedway circuit??
Cheers, Michael

Theres is bound to be speedway at Belle Vue in Manchester ;)

Yes indeedy you are correct Tim, just googleed it up and yes they're still doing it over there. Not that close tho a good 50 mins to an hour's drive from here. Might just give it a go tho, I can see just how long it does take to get there... cheers, Michael

Many a happy boozy night spent in Bridgnorth when I still lived down that neck of the woods. Go and check out Little and Church Stretton too - excellent little villages about 30 miles away, near the Long Mynd.
-
Yes, lots of lovely Shropshire villages in the area :)

So I came over on the Dommie back to Bridgnorth. and as mentioned above, my plan is to squeeze bikes up my side passage, (ooh er mrs!).
Arrived off the overnight Birkinhead ferry shattered, as the boat had been full of noisy Liverpool fans going to the Roma game.
Opens front door, and no way will bike fit as the door wont open fully as the bottom is catching on the tile floor in the entrance porch. So out with a lump hammer and bolster, and dig away part of the floor. Result! the door now opens fully, and with a quick twitch of the wide bars , the front end is in the porch at least.
So next i have a narrower door with a panel at the side. Take door off, then its down to the local hardware shop for a nice sharp hand saw. Cut away frame and panel. Result!
I now have a the bike secured off the street. Still another doorway to go before it reaches the yard, but that'll do for now. :)
