Used an Oxford Products one last year when we were at a rental property.I think it cost about £25 from Halfords and seemed to work well but i have no idea how long it would last.

The trouble is they do tend to sweat underneath. And if you've been out in the rain you're locking the dampness in. Plus the chance of melting it on the exhausts.....

In the days when my bikes lived outside they seemed happy enough exposed to the elements although I did cover things like ignition switches sometimes.

I found i had to let the bike cool down before placing the cover on and there was some corrosion beginning to take hold on metal brackets and alloy.

I had a green canvas cover back in the early eighties when my bike had to live outside. Canvas does 'breathe' a bit so it was far better than any of the man made fabrics at keeping condensation at bay, and you didn't have to worry too much about hot exhausts either. I've no idea if they are still available though.

My canvas cover eventually rotted unfortunately.  When you can find them now they are very expensive !
