After much cogitation, effing about with the ergo-cycle web site, investigation, research, dreaming, test rides etc. etc. I've finally bought a new bike to replace the ETZ. Naturally, it's a thumper - a nice original Funduro. Collecting it Sunday, and I can't wait!

Fabulous news. I hope you enjoy it, I love mine. It does benefit from being ridden using the gearbox as it's not a top gear slogger, but once you get that sorted it's great. Don't forget also that for parts Motorworks are your friend.

I had twoin a row back in the day. Mostly great memories so enjoy it.
If you are yet to do so research the water pump seals/shaft/blow hole thing. You may want to carry the kit if touring.

Pleased to share your good news! Was there ever a more exciting time than awaiting the arrival of a new machine :P

Thanks for the good wishes everybody - I'll try and post some photos up next week.
And don't worry Andy, I shall be keeping my eye on the weep hole (as the Bishop said to the actress :o)

Only thing better than getting a new bike, .....is getting two new bikes :D
The MZ Silver Star came about, as a fella that came to look at the Falcone, mentioned he was selling his bikes, (why he was looking at the Guzzi, I've no idea!]. My ears pricked up, and jaw dropped when he mentioned the MZ. These are gorgeous little roadsters, with a Rotax four stroke, electric start, and extremely rare. This one used to live on the Wirral, and then Bolton, before ending up in rural Co. Londonderry. So I bought it at the right price. The MZ will replace the Guzzi, Enfield, and XBR Special, though, to be honest, I love all three of these bikes :-\
The Armstrong I bought because it was the right price too, and someone wanted to buy the one which has been lurking in our living room for a couple of years, and which was fairly rough, and I never mastered starting. So I upgraded to a better Armstrong for less money than I sold mine, and made a small profit. It has a Mikuni carb, is in good order, starts easily, and the seller MOTd it today, and then delivered it to my door. It was a 'no brainer'. Also, it was originally red, and shares the same interesting history as the one I sold. The plan was to sell my Armstrong and my Dommie, but having cleaned it all up, I now find I cant part with the Dommie. It truly is the best bike I have ever owned :)

Well done that man.... happy riding Tim. That's if you ever manage to actually get out riding, it must take you a few hours of deliberation choosing which mosheen to go out on🏍😉👍
Cheers, Michael

Lovely pair of bikes Tim, but then I'm biased. Who knows, if I get my finger out of my a$$ and fix the clutch on my SilverStar, we may have two at Bishops Castle!
PS, I can't tell from the piccie, but the standard fitment side stand on the SilverStar isn't the best, but the good news is that a standard MZ prop stand that replaces the rear wheel spindle spacer drops straight in and is much more secure.
-
Yes, I've read about the 'suicide' side stand, but mine seems ok :)
And yes Michael, the situation has got rediculous regarding the number of bikes, but, in my defence, I am trying to sell some. Plus, if I hadn't bought the MZ, Rossco500 would have! And I couldn't let that happen ;)
-
Aye timbo,
Should we feel sorry for Rossco500?
Is Rossco500 feeling deprived?
Is your living room bigger than Rossco500's?
I hope that you get to enjoy them all.
My regards, Bill

Just as well I haven't any more room! Lol
A couple of tidy looking and unusual bikes - you'd certainly stop for a nosey if you saw them parked up.
Think its time to get my silver XBR out of hibernation and give the black one a break after the winter duties. Must post a few photos sometime.
Regards
Tony
