Title: Just about complete now
Post by: Ian on January 20, 2017, 02:14:07 PM
Hi all, as the title says....just the odd bit of fettling and touching up to do...

All fuel pipes, overflow pipes etc are now on. Number plate now fitted along with re positioned reflector. I have tried not to "over restore" this one. It will be used regularly,  as soon as I have it MOTd & taxed (already got it insured when my other bikes were due last September, that way it cost me £14 for the SRX fully comp etc etc)
Im sure I will find loads of jobs to do on it once I start running it and the odd bolt, that wasn`t "loctited", decides to loosen. Oops I just looked and found I havent replaced the kickstart and rear brake lever rubbers as yet. I know where they are...just one of "those jobs"

Ian :)

Wow, that really looks stunning.

Roll on spring and better riding weather is what I say....

It's sunny - what more do you want?

The SRX does look lovely. I know what you mean about the odd bolts that you left a bit slack so you'd tighten them up last thing.......

Yes, we've all been there haven't we, riding along after doing some major surgery, and all of a sudden you find the handlebars revolving round and turning themselves into 'drops', or the petrol tank starts gyrating madly, or there's a tinkling noise and something bounces into the nearest hedge....

It's a "Wow!" from me as well.
You're absolutely right to be worried about loose bolts. I've heard of terrible things happening. Better ride it down my way so I can check the torque on them whilst you sit with your feet up and a cuppa. Course, I'll be happy to do a little test ride after...just to check- belt & braces - you understand!

Trevor....I thought they were ALL nice colours 😉

PS...Took it for MOT yesterday on a bit of a whim as the weather was quite dry. Passed with no advisories ☺...Happy chappy now ...☺

Congratulations Ian.

As for colours, they were mostly very good, but I never could quite persuade myself to like the raspberry ripple, I'm afraid.

Not a bad job done for an old codger.
