Hello all
Just thought I'd say hello to all of you and introduce myself - Tony from Northern Ireland. Finally got myself online after years of "lurking" if that's the right term! I'm sure some of you will know me as I've been to many of the Annual Rallies since 2000 with the Irish crew, Timbo, Ronnie, Chris and Peter. Have had a few thumpers over the years but my fave is probably the good ole' XBR. Clocked up about 75k on them so hopefully might be able to offer a few tips. Currently have 2 at the mo - the old winter workhorse with 66k on the clock and one of the last silver wire wheel jobbies. I think there might also be another one in bits in the attic! Also in the stable is a Yamaha SR500, a Yamaha XT225 Serow an AJS 16MS and a Gilera Arcore 150 minithumper from the mid 70s. I do like my thumpers!!
All the best
Tony

Welcome Tony. Glad to hear you hadn't mentioned the Matchless twin that we own between us, and is braking are hearts and resolve ;)

As a latecomer to the many joys the XBR has on offer, I'm pleased to "meet" you and will no doubt be benefitting from your knowledge at some stage. Matt :)

Welcome Tony, though it sounds like you already know your way round the mad house. ;)

Tim, sort him out a camp bed in the little hut, a few glasses of your home brew and he won't notice the peat smoke smell.
Pat & I hope to get over for your next/last meet.
Tony.....it would be nice to meet up again, the last time was this year at Williams when we were on our moped tour of Northern Ireland.
Dave.

Hello Dave, Pat and all the inhabitants of the mad house!
Yes, I have to admit these days the tent usually remains tucked away in the cupboard 'til Springtime. Must be an age thing as remember touring around Scotland on a Kawasaki KE100 with the tent way back in 1986 (Easter) - had to brush the snow off it every morning. Got as far as Inverness. Did about 500 miles over a long weekend and was 3 miles from home when the engine holed a piston. Fortunately it happened outside Fox's Pub so not a complete disaster!
Hopefully catch up with you at the Shepherds Rest next year (with the tent!).

Ahhh...the old, "camp in the local pub's back garden and feign a breakdown" trick - one of those tips you promised? I can't even get an afternoon down the pub, so must try upping the ante with this one! :)

Yes Matt - pure coincidence that it happened outside a pub - I very rarely frequent those type of establishments!!
