Falcone ?

Welcome to the Moto Guzzi club Tim ... Most definitely a Falcone , Nuovo perhaps ..? Come on , get on with the story of how you came about it, it's history, how you only need three of it's four gears, a tick-over as slow as a glacier, .... Yep, I'm jealous as hell ...!! Regards, Tony

Nice. Mate of mine here rides a Nuovo Falcone and having borrowed it - what a lovely ride.
Excellent choice.

when i couldn`t find a sanglas my next 3 choices were R60 bmw , ss350 or a falcone, got two of them ! 2 more to get one day...

Yes, of course, you all got it right. Its a 1973 Nuovo Falcone, ex Italian Army. One of the North Leicester M/C ones. I've owned it a couple of years, it was offered to me, even though it wasn't really for sale. Previous local owner had a bad smash on it, and replaced everything with new, eg. exhaust, nacelle, speedo, bars etc etc, then lost interest. I've only rode it this week, having MOTd it on Wednesday. Was going to sell, but its growing on me, I've knicknamed it the Italian Armchair. Runs and rides like nothing I have ever experienced :)

will you put an e/start on it, / thats what i intended doing if i got one, my mate steve converted his and it worked well..
-
Any pictures Tim, they`re lovely little bikes ;)

No intention of fitting electric start, as theres no need, she starts really easily. you don't so much kick start it, as just push the kickstart down. once the massive flywheel is turning, that's her away. She chugs up to tick over like a cement mixer. comfortable cruising speed appears to be 'one metric hoseason', which is 55mph, same as my Enfield. Manual says to start her in second gear, I get the impression, that first is for climbing cliffs! Gear changes are interesting, with a toe and heel gear change. Great satisfaction when you make smooth changes, which only happen when you have the revs right, and guide her into the gear.

Lovely!!! Give me first refusal on it if you decide to sell PLEASE!!. My 71 Ambassador had the right hand heel toe change, took a bit of getting used too ;D

What a head-turner! So many bikes on here that appeal. Thanks for the pic!

seem to plenty of mg`s for sale at the minute but all asking too much for them..

No what you mean Spooky, if I decide to sell her, I'd be looking £3500 ono. What does that sound like folks? I'd be interested in your opinions?
-
The ones I looked at were between £2500 and £3000 but didn`t look as good as yours, the one i wanted, but decided was way too much money was a civilian e/start one at £4500 (way too much for me that is)
