Maybe we could have a little smokers section to display /talk about blue smokers ? kept seperate so those with delicate chests needn`t enter if they wish.... or maybe not, sorry :-\

Well, my first bit of news for the Smokers Shed, is that I've regrettably sold my MZ Saxon 250 :(
But I still have an ETZ251, which needs a seat, if anyone has one :)

I'm sure I've got one in the loft Timbo. Decent base and foam, IIRC, but needs recovering. PM me if you're interested. You can have it for the cost of the postage, if it's of any use. I'll look in the loft tonight, just to make sure it's still there!
Cheers,
Pete.

Thats a tidy one, AND you have the original leg shields which mine is missing. Has the chrome peeled off your carrier yet, they all do it as the Russian put the chrome straight onto the steel rather than give it a nickle coat so it doesn't last long. It'll be interesting to hear you're thoughts on it once you've ridden it. Watch the brakes!! ( An MZ TS250 front wheel will go in fairly easily and improves the braking but it would be nice to keep it original).

I have the Saxon 301's still in the garage. No working MZ-b unit or other ignition amongst them though. Need to get one going, but always find better things to do with the time and money.

all the `chrome` appears to be silver paint ! just checked everything electrical for an mot, all works now even the brake light, next job is to try it with a bit more petrol in as its all but empty, then get the carb off for a bath in the ultrasonic, it has the indicator switch but no winkers, not sure about the wiring for them, i have some cz ones that would fit,

Everything has it's own coil in the dynamo. The indicators are powered directly from the dynamo and aren't very good at low revs as I recall - may not pass an MOT - maybe why they have been removed. I did wonder if it would help fitting LED bulbs that need less power so may be brighter?. Apparently there is a way to install a battery and uprate the lights to 12V while leaving the igniton circuit as 6v but I'm not sure how.

all the wiring appears to be there for the winkers, it will go an mot without them and maybe fit some later, it seems to start and run ok (ish) now, i will try it again from cold, puzzled how the cable for the decompressor connects ? i haven`t got one yet but probably similar to bantm/villiers ones, it works fine if you press it in, any chance of a photo of yours ?

:o :o That's the first time I've ever heard the MZ drum front brake being described on an improvement on anything. :o :o

You've obviously never experienced the wonder that is the sintered blancmange brake linings of a Voskhod! :o

Also re indicator wiring, again this might help

thanks, it looks like i am missing the cable attachment/rocker piece on the top of the valve, if i can find an exploded drawing of one that will help...

Love the Voskhods fellas :) I seem to remember we had a couple of joint rallies with the Cossack Club at Dent a few years back. As I I've said previously, the more obscure the bike, the nicer the people. Good luck with the bikes :)
-
Dent rally is in october i think..
-
Yep, they've two at Dent every year. The Autumn one being in October. I think it usually coincides with Stafford ;)
-
bored with the Voskhod now ! it`s for sale..

Blooming heck mate, that was quick. I was just thinking about this earlier today, I swing like a pendulum, between one minute, thinking a bike is fantastic, to next thing deciding to sell. Actually, I reckon I hate selling any bike, but I can't keep everything :-\
