......this this 'XBR500' really a GB500!!  s'got GB clocks, chain guard, sidepanels, shocks....IT'S A GB!!

Starting bid £175!!!! ok it's rough but......

Good find Steve, an early one but yep, she`s a GB alright...I wonder if it`s a 400?  :-\

I had it on my watch list- it had 2 bids to £180 last time I looked ....hope it went for more than that!! :o :o

not wanting to sound like an ignoramus, but whats the difference? im not really all that clued up on xbr's, and well, that looks like an xbr500 to me????

Different tank (slightly smaller) different seat and back end, different shocks, different sidepanels, footrest hangers and lots of little bits, they look similar but the GB is the pretty sister to the plainer XBR. Basically the same underneath, same handling , same performance.

Main difference is a really nice XBR is worth £2000 when a GB in the same condition goes for £6000!!

Someone else with hawk like eyes will have made an offline, cash in hand offer and not believing his luck the seller has snapped "the hand that feedeth!" Then removed the listing. Not playing with a "straight bat", but that doesn't appear to matter these days.

Here's hoping it stays as a bike and not broken for 'exclusive', or should that be illusive spare parts.

Bit like dear Drew Pritchard tonight on Quest. A cast fire surround, with some lovely insect and flower motiffs in the design of the casting and intricate patterning. Dealer he was buying from thought about it and said "£70", Drew accepted the offer knowing it to be worth £1400 when lightly refurbished!  :o  Selling dealer ruefully twigged that he "may" have been caught!  :-[  Drew's comment was "Dealer to dealer, all is fair in love and war!" Now where is my local architectural salvage yard?  ;)
