Hi fellas. Does anyone on here do facebook?......I don`t :o
I`ve been doing some research on the headlight change on this GB that could turn up? I`ve been in touch with a fella in the states, who gave me the name of a GB fanatic who is on facebook in the UK (may even be on here??) who would know what light would fit straight into the GB`s headlamp shell (probably XBR but not certain) in fact I cross referenced the part number for an XBR lamp and it came back with a few other models but the GB was not on it??
If anyone would be prepared to contact this fella, pass on my details to him, or get his, I`d be grateful. I`ll PM anyone who contacts me with his full name, his initials are ..... S - J Thanks fella`s ..... ;)

No. I joined so I could access the RC group but it's so packed with adverts and what it decides I want as well as using up all my bandwidth I gave it up.
Why people persist with it I have no idea.

Hi Steve, I must ask, why do you want to go onto face-book concerning a GB head-lamp..? A quick look on David Silver Spares web site will show you that they have them in stock.... If you are not certain about it being correct they will be able to cross reference it with other models... In fact the whole chrome head-lamp and shell looks very much like the one on my 1990 Revere , which went on to be named the NTV, and Hawk in the USA... I strongly suspect a 7 inch headlight from many models (uk ) will pop straight into your chrome shell... I hope this helps... Regards, Tony

Hi fella`s, thanks for the input.
I don`t do facebook as from what I`ve heard it`s full of BS about people talking to eachother saying what they`ve had for breakfast, how many Weetabix they`ve had blah de blah de blah absolute s***e >:(
Apparently the person in question uses facebook and I`ve been told it`s probably the easiest way to contact him??
I`ve been on the David Silver web site but can`t see anything that cross references the headlight lense...probably me being stupid :-\ Also the Honda part number says "discontinued" part?
I`m only trying to source something so I am organized when / if the bike turns up, I know my money has gone so I`m keeping everything crossed until it does :-\
Cheers ;)

I think the headlamp body is slightly different but I'd be suprised if the actual lens unit wasn't the same as the XBR ones Dave Silver has as they only clip into the rim - email them and ask, they are pretty knowledgeable on such things.
-
I will ask my IT dept to look into this for you. She uses faceache to find homes for rescue dogs ;)
-
FB actually used for something worth while, hats off to you sir :) 8)

This is a reply following an email to David Silver regarding headlight .....
Unfortunately as the GB500TT was not sold in the UK
I do not know of a UK spec headlight that is a direct replacement. We list
parts by part number as opposed to by dimensions or fittings so it is
difficult to know which alternative to go for....sorry
I suppose the best thing is wait until it arrives ...... IF IT ARRIVES :-\ Up until 3pm today my money still hasn`t arrived with the vendor...it seems to have disappeared >:( Its left my account and FK where it is now. My bank is on the case, trying to "trace it" but we`ll see? It may be there now but probably not :'( :'( :'(
-
Gulp.....hope it turns up mate, I'm sure it will!!! Then hopefully the bike will follow on shortly afterwards. Fingers crossed for ya...cheers, Michael

couldnt you find an online fiche site from a market where the gb was sold and see what the part number is?

Good news & bad news
Good News!
Wemoto stock the headlight unit for the GB500!! ( which I presume is the lens unit)
Bad news! ......it's £87.92 !!!!
If you order one I'd just check with them it is going to dip the right way.

manxie, has the bank traced your money yet🙏
-
Hey fella`s, thanks for your concern. ;)
I`ve been in touch with the bank today and it turns out the funds were rejected in Holland and as we were speaking on the phone, the funds bounced back into my account....fewww !!!! The bank then asked me if I`d like to resend the funds assuring me the Dutch bank would except payment this time ??? Because it was no fault of my own there would be no extra charges and the charge for "tracing" the money would also be dropped. I said to resend if they were definitely going to accept it this time :o
I`ve contacted the vendor to explain the situation but not had a reply yet..... he`s probably p`d off with the hassle, as I am, but hopefully he`ll contact me saying all is well. Time will tell?
I`ll keep you all posted but hopefully the wheels are now ...... again..... in motion ;)

Squeaky bum rectified!? :o

Squeaky bum rectified!? :o
It`s better but not quite :o :)

Steve, That is great news ... I hope the seller is still going ahead with the deal... I bet you let out such a sigh of relief..! Tony
-
Hi Tony, yes it was thanks, a big relief! I`m hoping the same regarding the vendor, still not heard from him but I`m hoping all is still ok? I felt like throwing in the towel and I wouldn`t be surprised if he thinks the same :-\
-
How about trying to restore confidence by getting the Dutch bank, who seem to be at fault, to phone/email your vendor to apologise/explain? Or does this just make it seem more scammy?
-
I have been asked by my bank to ask the vendor to call his bank to confirm they will accept my payment this time. Hopefully he will, and they`ll explain what`s happened?? Still not heard from him :(

[quote author=manxie hopefully the wheels are now ...... again..... in motion ;)
Hi Steve, I see wot you did there. The wheels in motion bit.....very witty sir :) :) :)
At the end of the day mate a sale is a sale so I wouldn't have thought the seller/dealer would pull out because of what is ultimately a bit of a hick up. I realise it probably felt more than that to you, (as it defo would have with me) anyway hopefully it'll be a case of it all ending well for you...like I said fingers crossed for ya...keep us posted. Cheers, Michael

;D ;D I`m hoping the wheels are in motion shortly heading north ....... towards the IOM ;)
