Anyone (except moto63, he's as bad as me wi photos) using the above devices on here. There's a few times I thought I'd like to post photos but it defeats me.
I need someone who is actually doing it, so they can tell me how they're doing it!

Can't really help too much - I just tried to post a photo from my tablet as I would normally do from my laptop and it won't do it as there is no 'copy image location' option. :-\
re Ipad Vs Kindle ( android etc) ....Again I haven't a clue but I am assured by my Tech Chimps ( son's 1 &3) that Android tablets are better than Apple products as they are much cheaper for the same spec, have better support and don't charge the earth for every little extra....however don't take my word on it as, while I can work a laptop I'm hopeless on a tablet!

I agree. The other thing is that with apple's products you're locked into them for everything, unlike android (or even more so Windows) where it's an open architecture that allows you to load other, non-approved software.
But I can't help with the original question.
Just a thought - can you upload to photobucket or similar then use the link from that? That's what I normally do anyway so the image is publicly available.

I'm glad it's not just me! Thanks Steve for giving it a go.

Tried that but the link info was dead. Came on as just text. I'm not sure whether I should do something else to make it public.
Er indoors is pushing for us to get a laptop at some point, so maybe I can join in with the photo fun then. :)

I am totally clueless re modern tech stuff, mainly cause I've no interest. However, I can now transfer photos from my phone to a file on the laptop. Then resize to less than 250kb and put on any posts on here as an attachment. For any of this to happen has taken much nashing of teeth and temper tantrums from Alison, as when she trys to show me this stuff, all I hear is white noise :-\
Its got the stage were I'm scared to ask :-\

Yes, the steps to follow on here using an i pad are dead easy, but once you hit the go button it tells you the file size is too large. I don't know of any way of resizing files on an I pad or kindle fire.

There must be an edit function? My photos off my phone start off at 1.5mb, which is obviously far too big. So Edit, Resize, 30%, Save, post as an attachment.

There doesn't seem to be any way of resizing on the i pad or kindle. And there is no way of resizing as you're following the steps on here. It's simplicity itself if your file is 250kb or less. Show me a way of re sizing on i pad or kindle and I'm laughing. ;D

You said you were "surmising" not laughing, it's all very confusing :) :)

Thanks Ian. I'll have a goosey. It says you have flexibility of JPEG quality.

Hi Andy. Looks like the ribblehead viaduct in that there pic you posted?? ..cheers, Michael

Indeed. A little hundred mile bimble this morning before thinking about roasting beef, puddining Yorkshire, crumbling rhubarb ( we are in the triangle here) , passing the port etc.
You have to admire the Victorians even if this was a bit of a money pit styled white elephant.

Yes know the road well Andy, I don't live a million miles from there. Even tho I'm now an adopted Lancastrian (you can take the lad outta Bradford etc, etc) yes the viaduct has a fantastic history behind it and is a stunning bit of engineering and building combined, especially on a sunny day. Ps. Good man for getting out on such an inclement day. Cheers, Michael

Love that whole area, and handy for a ride out from Dent. Am I right in thinking that a certain Mr Portillo was heavily involved in the saving and preservation of this great landmark?
Fantastic walk from Dent along the military road, then over Whernside, and down to Ribblehead. Then back by Blea Moor and the Dales Way :)
