i have had this a few weeks now, it hadn`t been started for 10 years or more but after a few jobs, wiring, recorked clutch, carb rebuild/clean it now goes ! having ridden it around the garden i can confirm it only has one gear, actually it does have all four but it doesnt like to come out of first, should have that put right soon, but it sounds lovely.. oh, it`s a 1956 clipper

Looks very tidy.
If it won't come out of first I'd suggest clutch drag although Enfield gearboxes are rather on the clunky side. Does the neutral finder work?
Oh, looking again it seems not to have one......

not clutch drag, if i put a spanner on the gear indicator all gears select, Hitchcocks think it is something like the return spring or ratchet, both easy to get at by taking off just the outer cover, job for a warm day...
