-
Hopefully gettin dealt up with a new lathe and milling machine in the next few months so shud keep me busy sorting out the XBR "street tracker " that I,m in the process of building. Oh and then there,s the rs250 to start. Shud be a couple of tasty (ish) bikes for next years stafford thumper stand. (If everything goes to plan) cheers all. Michael

Hello fellow fumpers.
Good to hear there are projects on the go. I've plenty of bike related work to see me through winter. Fumper wise there's the xbr engined RS, which I'm hoping to move along.
We're away on a long weekend so, unfortunately, I can't make the Stafford show. Apologies to Mick and rob and of course Gareth and graham.

Yep, my XBR is also going onto SORN at the end of the month, Hoping to get one last decent run up to the Yorkshire air museum at Elvington to see their DH Mosquito before I put it to bed for the winter.
( yes I know I'm being a wimp but I've spent too many winters freezing my nuts off in the past riding to work!)
-
Skorpion Sport is scorned but the MZ two stroke is out for the season in which I seem to do most of my biking.
-
I had a lovely ride on the SR400 to Gateshead and back on Thursday (350 mile round trip) to pick up some panniers I bought off ebay. They are to give me more touring capacity on the SR.
I won't be sorning my bikes, never do, it's too long to go without riding a bike over winter.
I would like to do some work on my old BMW over winter but probably won't cos I'd rather be out riding the thing.

My XBR has been sorn since March earning a long deserved rest ,still been riding thumpers this year in the form of a aprilia strada .When it too gets sorn at the end of the month i will have time to fit the new tapered head bearings and source out some new shockers for the XBR .Might even find time next year to ride them both and put some parades in with the CRMC boys ( that's why i bought a XBR in the first place ) fingers crossed.... :)

Mine comes off the road at the end of the month, lots of work to do
-
Yes I seem to be too busy riding bikes in the great weather we've had sept/oct, to be getting stuck into my endless projects. Or is that just an excuse, as I have a sort of writers block at the moment regarding getting out into the shed :-\ Yet once I finally pull the finger out, and get started, I really enjoy it :)

My RS 250 has decided its headlight doesn't want to work now the long dark nights are upon us...spent a couple of fruitless hours looking at it on Sunday .Now going to replace the switchgear having already replaced the fusebox.More fun and games ahead no doubt!Got a VT500 project to play with as well-always wanted a small V twin but the V50 Guzzi i wanted is now too expensive-don't even mention the Morini!
-
VT500 ya say Martin, nice bike. Customise up very nicely. Cheers Michael
-
Michael - the plan is to get it up and running as cheaply as possible and use as a winter hack to see how it goes from there.
-
Yes they also make great winter hacks, so I,m told. Sa neighties honda, they all make great winter hacks. Don,t they???
-
i got a trx 850 a while back been messin about on that ,great bike ,thanks to silver for helping me with some bits for it ,,going to get my dommie sorted out this weekend for the winter tommy
-
Michael-i've got 3 80's Hondas and you are so right-they do indeed ALL make great winter hacks!Better than a Superdream any day!
Tommy TRX850 is on my list of bikes to get before i'm too old!
-
Must admit, I could see me on a trx. So many bikes, so little time.
By the way chaps, just gotta say...
Biking is bloody great!

Yes I,d atta agree with the last line even given wot,s happened in the last couple o months. A mate of mine (hi nutter) used to say "fast bikes n loose women" well as far as I,m concerned ya can keep the loose women, only get ya into bother anyway. Cheers Michael
