Title: XBR Index
Post by: timbo on August 20, 2015, 07:25:55 AM
Ok, so just out of interest, and has Oldtimer has suggested, lets have thread just to see how many XBRs are out there on the forum.
So, I have one XBR600 special, plus another five all in bits for refurbishment. My mate Tony has three, Chris has five, Pete has one, wee Bertie has one, George has one, and Jack has one.
So that's 18 just amongst my local club  8)

Where does an xbr engine in an RS frame leave me?

Hypothetically, assuming I complete the task. One bolt and several tie wraps isn't really a complete job.  ???

If you have log books for the parts and can make a complete bike well I guess that should count.

Took a walk around the paddock and Grandstand this lunch time, saw a couple of XBR`s parked amongst some stunning bikes including about 10 BSA Goldstar`s. The XBR`s were both UK reg`d, one has faded red paintwork the other was a very tidy black one with immaculate original pipes on it and around 6.5k miles! Fizzy`s, LC`s, GT 380, Guzzi`s, BM`s, Laverda`s, Morini`s, you name it, it seemed to be there! And the weather is holding out so far  ;)

Well I don't no, is it road legal?
Right lets get this into the correct context, all bikes that are eligible to be ridden on the road legally and have a logbook, ie either SORN or Taxed.  Hum! well I have one bike on the road and a frame that has a registration document, now let me think!!!!!

Hi silver, when you say "most of em were at the mgp" I take you mean XBR,s not ikuzawa,s?? Still to see one being used in anger. So if any one out there knows of any that are being raced (ikuzawa,s that is) please drop me a line and let me know. Thanks Michael

Never heard of the ikuwatsit, but i like the sound of the spec. No didn't see any on the island. There were some fantastic bikes at Jurby lots of groups riding kwak triples, kettles atc. Lots of XBR's and quite a few GB's as usual with IOM lots were johny foreigners.
We always do a bit of TRX spotting but only managed 2, but i know there was another over there, but didn't see it.
Weather was very good to us and even managed a BBQ one evening.
My TRX track bike wears harris fairing and seat unit but nothing exotic like frame.

Yep, loads of XBRs and GBs on IOM. Also spotted the two TRXs at Jurby. But not a single 650 Dommie all week  ;)
