Title: Yoke Identification
Post by: guest1406 on July 22, 2015, 03:19:45 PM
Hi all,

Thanks again for identifying my brake hubs as MZs - Got another one!

A while ago i bought this set of crusty yokes cheap, simply because I like the handlebar mounts and the handle on top. Anyone know what they're from?

Top yoke measures 29/30mm
Bottom yoke measures 34/35mm
(Couldnt find vernier gauge.)

I really like them so would like to get them dechromed, polished and usable on a bobber front end i'm building.

Cheers,

Mackenzie

Dunno about the yoke, but the handle looks for all the world like a pegler gate valve.

Hi Mackenzie, sorry can,t help you out with any ID on the yokes but I can see why you,d want to use them on a special build. Certainly different (never a bad thing IMHO) I like the friction steering damper knob, looks like a plumbers gate valve, very industrial. Keep us posted of developments on the build and good luck. Regards Michael

It's bugging me because I've had a bike like that. If the knob really does operate a friction damper then maybe a Brit. BSA? Can't remember how the fork tops were held in my old A10.

Yes i found out yesterday that they are BSA A10 A7 yokes. I just liked them because they were old and different and exactly that gas looking valve. Knowing they're BSA is cool as well, I like BSAs.

Gonna have them de chromed and polished ready to use.

Cheers,

Macknzie

To be honest i just have a front end in my head i want to build. Ive got a Harley 19" Polished smooth rim, that i ether want a Triumph TL Brake on or just a spool hub. Ill have the yokes polished. But I do have a B33 engine that i want rebuilt to go into a matching Triumph frame ive got that id eventually like to hardtail. BSA Bobber!

Cheers all
