Hi all,
Coming near to the electrics of the bike and need to think of battery box and battery. Whats the smallest or just small batteries around? I know the antigravity ones are teenie weenie but they have to be shipped and are £70ish. I dont mind them being a bit bigger.
Bike is a Suzuki GN250

May I suggest "Motorcycle batteries", these are all 'Absorbed glass mat' construction, including a 12v or 6v battery with a box to fit it in, if you have a machine requiring a 6v battery.
Some of the LED stuff may be of use to you and others, if you are not worried about "originality".

Just bare in mind you can't go too small as it will still need enough umph to turn the starter over - no kicker on the GN as I recall. I think the original was about 12amp/h so that may limit your choice a bit.

WESTCO 6V AGM BATTERY
These use the same advanced AGM technology as the 12V batteries above but are intended for use with 6V non-electric start bikes
They have a large 13AH capacity
They are 105 x 70 x 140MM & are a snug fit inside the rubber battery boxes.
(4 1/8" x 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" app.)

Nope, the GN250 has 12 volt electrics.

Right voltage, but 5amp/h will probably struggle to start it - if it had a kickstarter then no problem, but the electric boot needs a higher ampage to crank the piston over. Standard is ( I think ) 12amp/h so you are going to want at least 9-10 amp/h and they aren't going to be that small. You might find the high tech batteries may be smaller but they are expensive. Could you fit a standardish sized battery in one of those custom battery boxes the Chopper crowd use? Would it fit above the swingarm pivot where the airfilter would usually fit? Chrome/alloy if you want it noticed or matt/satin black if you don't.

With a bit of research i decided to get the "YTZ7S Westco Motorcycle Battery 12V 6Ah (12VZ7S)" for £60.
The anti gravity batteries claim it will start everyday with bikes up to 400cc on 6ah and 130cca. The Westco produces the exact same power output but is a tiny bit bigger (only slightly!) and a lot cheaper! one review said its used everyday for the past two years on his Hornet 600.
Can start making a box now!
