I've been hanging around here for a couple of weeks now and have finally got my act together to produce some piccies, so here goes.

I've been riding for 33 years and have always preferred singles and twins. Got the DR350 about 6 months ago and liked it so much I got the SLR to go with it!

Great bikes :) SLR/Vigors never got a good write up and are always slagged off. But I think they're really underrated. I've had loads of fun on my Vigor :D

Welcome crazyfrog nice bevvy of bikes you have there.

Welcome and great pair of thumpers you have there. I've looked at SLRs plenty of times as I like the 650 capacity (my SR400 struggles sometimes with my 20 stone frame!) and I had an XBR 500 some years ago which was great. What's it like to ride? Torquey low down or a revver? What about fuel consumption? Hope you don't mind me asking.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Smithy, I've only had the SLR for two weeks so only filled it up once. It did 60mpg on the 1st tankful but that was mostly commuting so I expect that to drop off when I get more of a chance to give it the beans! It's a bit snatchy from very low revs (can't be accurate cos there's no Tacho (yet!)) but soon cleans up and pulls very well from a guestimated 3k rpm. It does seem to run out of puff a bit as the revs rise, but again due to the lack of the tacho, I can't be more specific. There is supposed to be an easy baffle removal / re-jetting fix to get back up to nearer the 45bhp the original Dommi's had, so I may well be trying that shortly.

Thanks CrazyFrog that seems to be about the same as the XBR that I used to own. 45bhp sounds great to a man who's bike produces a whopping 23bhp! Mind you even with only 23bhp to pull my Jabba the Hutt physique the little SR will still sit on 80mph happily on an A road.
