Hello. Tim left this page open so I'm going to sneak on. I'm off to Iceland in June with a friend. Have looked at a couple of sites for bike hire as we are being girly soft and flying. Any of you adventurers been in Iceland? Rode Iceland? Know anything bike related re advice for riding in Iceland (smutty jokes welcome)?
All advice welcome.....I think :o :)
Tata,

Hi Tim
Went to Iceland a few years ago and had a great time. Didn't travel by bike but did hire a car and saw quite a bit of the country. Take plenty of money as it was never cheap, and after the 'sh*t and fan' coming together over their dodgy financial affairs I doubt if it's any better now. But, on the other hand, if you enjoy Puffin or rotting fish you're in luck!
I know there was a guy from Burton-on-Trent who used to visit this site occasionally who went to both The Faroe Islands and Iceland by bike. He tried to cross through the barran middle of Iceland solo, broke his left and nearly died of hypothermia. He would obviously be a good source of information especially about recovery in the middle of nowhere.
Hope it goes well

Thanks Boyd, unfortunately for me, I'll be stuck at home lookin after Alison's two Akita's ??? She's off with her kiwi mate, Pania, at the start of June. Looks like they're hiring a camper, rather than bikes. Iceland now seems cheap to get to, and cheaper there than previously.

When I went to Iceland I parked in the Tesco car park and walked across from there, had to f**k off that Peter Andre though and all the mothers that go there.
