Possibly I was three sheets to the wind, but wasn't there a threads about gin mixed in with the land rover and weatherpresenter stuff?
I was going to post my latest discovery. Welsh Gin! Made Brecon. Very pleasant it is too.

Any free samples? Hee Hee.
Actually, I'm a bit of a whisky man meself. I've had a Welsh whisky before and very nice it was too. Can't remember the name tho.

That'll be Pendyran then, made not far from Swansea I think. Yes there was definitely a discussion on here about a gin based drink, but I can't rem the name of it :-\ Was it ginova or something?
Anyway, you should be drinking whiskey, not whisky ;) I'm quite partial to a wee Jameson's, no water, no ice, but only once in a while :)

Here they are, the gin and one of their whiskys on the same page.

25 miles NE of Swansea near Aberdare where they have a great race meet, there is also a bunkhouse near the distillery, the distillery does a good tour.....I have a plan coming together. :D

I also have a little bottle of English whisky in the cupboard, nestling among the plethora of other whisky's, most of which are getting alarmingly near the bottom! Made by the English whisky co. Called "chapter 6".
Got a few japanese ones in there too. And a very well aged single grain.
Timbo, most of the "whiskey" I drink tends to be bourbon or rye. Sazerack rye is (was!) a favourite.
But don't ask me any complicated questions because I don't know that much about it. Only that I like it!

Was it not you Andy who had a purpose made box on the back of your bike (Enfield/Triumph?) which contained cocktail glasses, mixing straws, Gin and all the accoutrement's a Chap would need to make a golly good G&T whilst at Thumper Club rally?
I'm sure I have a photo somewhere but I can't find it!

Whiskey, with an "e" refers to all Irish whiskey, which is triple distilled, hence the smoothness :D
Not sure, but I think all bourbon US style stuff is distilled only once.
Whisky without an "e" refers to Scottish whisky which I believe is distilled twice. So that's that cleared up then, not :-\

Which is best with coke and which with lemonade.

In a word, NONE. Just one ice cube

Water is for making tea. Frozen just makes it less efficient.
The gin was Brecon Botanical. Lovely. On my birthday wish list.
I was an Irish drinker. The Scotch was rough. A Glaswegian gentleman of my aquaintance pointed me towards a couple of Islay sorts though and I'm now a bit of a convert if only one with medium priced tastes. Still like the Irish.
