Well, for better or for worse, I've just picked up one of these locally off gumtree for not a lot of wedge. Actually I've got one and a half, in other words, loads of spares, but also a few bits short of a complete bike :P. So, does anybody out there know much about these wee bikes, ever owned one, have any parts/manuals for sale?

It's a pretty rare beastie in the UK! I believe the engine is from the Honda CBX250 and spares for those are available from David Silver and Wemoto. I'm not sure if the rolling chassis is basically a re-clothed CBX but I suspect it probably is as I can't see Honda designing and tooling up an all new chassis for a single model when they already have the proven CBX chassis. I think tanks are like hen's teeth.
Not much on the web but I found this - otherwise I'd expect it to be pretty much as a CBX250.

Thanks Steve. the Pete Monks article is very interesting. All CBXs were twin carb, however the GB can be single or double and mine has come with both. Thankfully it came with a tank which is ropey but saveable, but no filler cap or fuel tap. Also 2 into 1 pipes and real good 2 into 2 ones as well. Also two frames, which appear the same, but differ slightly. The only bits I really need are a front mudguard, chainguard, side panels, and front caliper and master cylinder. Tho some xbr bits seem very similar. Anyway, thanks again for your response, and any other help or info is very welcome 8)

IF the GB bits are the same as the CBX bits, then David Silver has chainguards and master cylinder assemblies for £20 & £30 respectively! He's pretty good on prices, I've just bought a genuine battery for the XBR for £18!! much cheaper than other suppliers.
** Also has tank filler caps if they are the same.

Evening timbo
Click on ROCKET GARAGE web site and check out the lovely little gb250 cafe racer on there. Sweet little thing it is. Can,t really offer much help apart from wishing you the best of luck with the build. Regards Michael

Loads of great links and footage on the Rocket Garage site, thanks. I think this thread should probably be in the project section, so ill move to there and put up some photos of what I've bought.

Yes, been keeping an eye on it. Thankfully its away in that there London, well out of my grasp ;)
The CBX was an official UK import, but didn't sell, due to the change in the learner law at the time, I think?
Its shares its engine with the GB 250, which was a Japan market only model.
Unfort, I don't know what other parts they share, or even what I need, as my three and a half GBs will have to fester in the shed until I get time to look at them :'(

It was a lot more expensive than the old RS as well.
