I woke the XBR from its winter hibernation yesterday, checked all the necessary bits put in new oil and spent an hour priming the oil system, started 3rd kick.
Started fine this morning, rode it to the petrol station, and had a bit of a blast out

Great !
I think I could do the same in 2015
Enjoy riding and drive safely !

hi joolz
just wondering how you primed the oil system
cheers tommy

The easiest way to prime an XBR from my experience is to first fill the oil tank, then remove the small bolt located just forward and below the kick starter, on clutch cover, remove one of the tappet covers and pour oil into this until oil starts to come out of the bolt hole on the clutch cover. Replace the bolt and tighten. Next loosen the oil pipe at the head and kick the bike over until oil starts coming out, Tighten the oil pipe banjo job done. (It can take a lot of kicks to get the oil flowing)
