Could be a financial disaster for me given how much the MZ and BMW smoke ;D
On the other hand no doubt some comedian will be along shortly to remind me that in they would have to be running to smoke.

Good idea Mark, even though I have a 500cc Gilera Fuoco ( amongst others ) it is still a thumper. Petition signed.

of course, this will also increase mot costs as mot stations have to aquire the test equipment, because thats the only way to check these emissions, and remember that when you add an emissions test to the current mot, then you allow pc plod that one extra reason to stop your bike when he has a mind to and potentially report you or send you for a retest for your emissions, and id not be in a rush to ask the government to add more legislation to the biking worlds current stack of regs. and finally, who is going to provide the emissions figures for my 1960s triumph or my 1980s suzukis? it sounds like a great idea in practice, but im wary about asking the govt to introduce legislation that impinges on any part of my biking world.

That is something I agree on.

I reckon it would be looking at new bikes with the emission figures or at most post 2001 when it came into regulation for cars.

Pre-2001 cars get tested for emissions. Ans can fail because they are too high.
Would have to be careful of modified bikes !
