Any one else find Henry Cole bloody irritating......
Watched worlds greatest bloke on a motorbike as he rode a route between St Petersburg and Moscow.
He had a nice Bmw Gs 1200 to potter about on but he was so negative it became painful to
watch.
He moaned about the roads, the manner of driving, the weather,
His programme on Germany was ok.
This latest on Russia was crap
Rob.

Yes, you can have too much of a good thing, but we all have our bad days and our good days.
Have you seen the one of him in New Zealand? I went green, anyway Henry comes over as a bit of a tart,
overall a good bike programme.
-
I like the program, yes New Zealand looks like heaven for motorcycling. Im hoping they do one on Canada there are some great rides there
-
I find his repetetive use of the words "man," "klicks", and "right" used as a question at the end of statements irritating in the extreme. It appears to me that he also often rides on the wrong side of continuous white lines. In fairness he is sometimes quite entertaining and when riding in Russia he did keep going in horrendous weather. I shall continue to watch in small bites until I become completely bored.
-
Henry is a complete and utter t w a t. He cannot ride a bike properly and if the truth be known I do watch the programmes hoping he will mash himself. It's only entertainment really and he is a dinosaur in biking terms. He only managesd these rides because he has the team to back him up. I'll bet good money he couldn't do one of these rides unsupported.

Yes the weather was poor at times but his riding kit does not appear to be that good. I mean thar sleeveless sheepskin cut off thing over his leather........There is no excuse these days to get wt feet either.
No, he is clearly an enthusiast but a bit of a whinger.....

Sounds like the international airport.
I live near the airport and I complained about all the whining noises from the planes. The staff member noted that the engines had been turned off all the planes on the tarmac but it is probably just the British Airways tourists arrivals in the terminal.

Was it quieter when the cricket was on :-X

.......I like the program, yes New Zealand looks like heaven for motorcycling........
Pat & I went over to NZ earlier this year to see our daughter and granddaughter, so to make the most of it I rented a bike and we did some touring using our daughters house as a base.
I watched the programme, but was amazed at his choice of bike...a Sportster with a 9L tank....ok if you have a backup vehicle carrying fuel.....and he missed so many lovely roads, especially on the South Island....Arthurs Pass, Lewis Pass and the clifftop road West from Picton....and many more, so sad.
We rented the bike for 3weeks and did nearly 4000miles....wonderful.

Yeah, New Zealand looks great......one day maybe........but not on a Harley tractor......
Rob

Really, really boring b**t**d Think he would have a shave now and again, after all he's on tele AND getting paid for being a missarable TW*T with a runny snout!

........but not on a Harley tractor........
Hi Rob, I got a good deal on a Yamaha XT1200Z....on a one way rental from Christchurch to Auckland.....a bike not popular with the critics, but I found it perfect (once I had sorted the screen) for our adventure. We took our own riding gear incuding helmets and waterproofs, we were lucky with the weather, only a couple of showers, but when it rains, boy does it rain. We went in their Autumn and it had been the dryest Summer for 60yrs and the grass was parched with fire warning signs everywhere......one for the bucket list.
Dave.

You are not wrong Dave.
I look forward to it.
In the meantime, Henrys debarcle in Russia has inspired me to have a go. I mean it looked no worse thn recent runs to the Czech Republic. Not for a couple of tear granted as I will not have the money for a bit.
I fancy the Ukraine, a run to Kiev. Depending on if you go via Poland a round trip of about 3500 miles or via Czech Republic and Slovakia about 4500miles.
With 120miles before reserve on the Bonnie I will have to look at extra fuel but I fancy this. Henry made it look a lot harder there.

Well Guys, i'm lucky enough to live in NZ and just about every road is a great ride. Henry only used a few of the main highways and his choice of bike was crap, to say the least. Those harley tractors don't handle well on tight cornering and only have small fuel tanks. There are so many great hills and coastal roads with good road surfaces that are a bikers delight. If you ever get the opportunity to come down under you won't regret it. Summer, Spring or early autumn would be the best times.
Cheers
Robbo :)

Henry Cole did mash himself up when learning to motocross, on a different but related programme- it's great he doesn't come here to Wales, where, as we all know, There are several 'Greatest rides in the world'.
