You know you want one :), there are others at stupid prices but this looks reasonable. For your money you get an excellent engine robust frame and lots of people saying 'Wot the heck is that?'

That has got to be the ugliest thing that ever burnt petrol. When the picture of it came on the screen I shrieked and the dog left the room crying!

Lol, know what you mean, but have you seen a standard CD175... or a "full dress" Hardly-Worthitson? ;-)

That's the worst colour option (imho) but I think they're a good looking bike in the flesh. What's nice is how close the end result was compared to the original Phillipe Starck drawings. Like it or loath it, the company employed Monsiuer Starck for his design flair and they were faithful to his ideas.
Unlike some manufacturers... anyone else remember being really excited about the Seymour Powell MZ Skorpion prototype only to discover that MZ didn't want to make that bike so they made one a bit similar. Still pretty, but not as lovely as the original.
Here's the protoype Skorpion:

I believe the frame was Glued together not welded.
Same sort of glue used to put aircraft together.

They made the same bike but with a few alterations including bolting and welding the frame rather than gluing. Also where it ought to have been a Rotax they opted for the now commonplace XTZ lump and the running gear was cheaped out from Brembo wheels and brakes to Gramica, but essentially the bike is the same.

I had an interesting conversation with Dave Pearce about this. He didn't mince his words about MZ!!
Frame builder extrordinaire designed (contracted by SP? OR contracted by MZ? Not sure of the details, and don't want to be a spreader of *******!) the lovely frame around the air-cooled rotax motor. He was apparently quite vocal when it came to putting an ugly XTZ motor, including 2x carbs and radiator onto it.
And it was meant to be OIF (like his supermono race frames). Nope! Too dear, needs good wlds etc. So we need an oil tank now. Where to put it?? Oh yeah... above the back wheel, that'll do.
(to be fair, at least it is still "invisible"...) ::)
This appears to have been a contemporary report... -->

From memory (and a sight of the bike at a show) the prototype was just a little more lithe looking. The fairing, in particular, was more elegant.

In comparison... YES!!!!!! That thing makes the DL look like Ducati.
The DL might be the motorcycle equivalent of a poor pull at an over 40's singles party, but there ain't enough beer in the world would get me to take the Moto home! Sh1t, I wouldn't walk it to the chippy!

Better Off with the DL.....at least you are able to get parts for it !
