I thought it might be interesting to see what's on our various menus for the forthcoming year. For myself, Dragon of course, in the half shed, finishing the Guzzi first, then there is a the restoration of at least two of the three strokers, a short foray to France at Easter, think about some cold weather stuff for early the following year. Absolutely want to get back to riding more than I did in 2012. Oh and a half shed meet some time early in 2013.

(read) Apply for the Taurentreffen and do the Elefantentreffen if they fall on the same weekend ;) ;D
Thats an order Edwards!

So much to do, so little time in which to do it. Loads of work on the house first and foremost. More riding. Sorted garage to enjoy working on the bikes again. Another 125 MZ to fix up. I fancy getting the XT on the road again too. Ideally getting the beemer up with a sidecar on it. Way too much and some wageslavery to fit in too.
-
Pass car test get landy!
-
Going to chase the snow and sun, got to get away from this Island before it sinks.
-
Off to the Dragon of course. Overhaul the Bonnie and keep the XBR on the road until a suitable replacement, another single, becomes available. A few camping trips are planned but mainly house and home this year. In particular the garage needs some work before next winter with the possibility of a shed meet at some point. Maybe a trip away in the snow for early 2014, subject to one or two things.
-
Dragon first to check out these new Magadan panniers, soft!

Need to work on Irish lads to repeat TC meet over there.
More camping. Need to get abroad on bike
-
ouch could of been worse i took a pigeon to the chest a few summers back
-
Start off with a spot of camping in north Wales in Feb. Going to the Germany rally in the summer. Follow the crowd for the Annual Rally (when we've an idea where/when it'll be) and try to get a few [long and tough] hill walks/camps chucked in for good measure.
As for the shed... Like to get the Zed at least to a rolling chassis by this time next year. If the 'orbiting chocolate one' is kind, might even get her finished. (...well a chap can dream ::))
-
Zed??
Aww..Pat you have finally come over to the dark side and bought an MZ
may the blue haze go with you

Just got back fom a week in Madeira. Daniel and I hired CBF 500s for five days. What a great what to spend Christmas. The Island is 35miles long but we averaged @100 miles per day. Next year planning on eastern europe, Transfagarasan highway Romania, via the German Rally, and getting used to my breva 750 {pre Christmas present to self]. Oh and of course finishing DR 800 project. I like your panniers Steve where do you get them from? Happy New Year Mart

Sell house and be reunited with SWMBO on Orkney. Only then can I plan anything else. No dragon, no IOM, and may have to sell some of the bikes:-(
Roll on 2013.

Panniers from Adventure-spec. I can lift both with one arm FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just so light and designed by one of the most respected adventure riders out there. Check out Walter Colbach. They have an outside pocket that can be used for all of your cooking gear, read I can make a cuppa at the side of the road. Super strong with waterproof liners, just the job for long distance or off road / bad conditions.
This guy has evaluated what he wants from panniers over many years and has come up with these babies. :o
-
So much to do, so little time:
1. Dragon
2. At least enough miles to get the Wee over 10000.
3. MZ up and running
4. Keep looking for MZ sidecar fittings.
5 Major re-work of garage including a bench and access to everything on demand.

Yeah I have got a Perspex one that I took off as the mounting points use the Plastic surround as mounting points. The Pheasant was as big as a chicken and would undoubtedly have taken any sort of grille with it and at the same time any fixing points. The grille you have shown is really only for small rocks etc. It's just one of those things that you cannot anticipate. Yes it will be expensive, the headlight unit is quite complex with the refletor being sandwiched between two other mouldings. I have a mate who runs Gear4bikes and he can get me one for @£130. There is one one evilbay thats been up for grabs (second hand I might add) at £170!
I will though get a screen 'saver' for the new headlight.

first off dragon, maybe a couple of local rallys then a trip over the alps down to monaco in my reliant robin in august, lucky that pheasant hit your bike steve, a few years ago doing the acu national i caught a crow in the chest and it put me out of action for a week :(

After my brief experience of your stinkwheel all those years ago, that'll never happen. Scared I am. ;) No, Zed is not a MZ, she's not even a thumper, she's a Z400 (twin) and I'm doing my utmost to wreck customise her. 8)
