Title: strange buzzing sound from my lid

We had a great day out on the bike great weather and not too many cars around perfect for fun, the only slight downside was something flew in my lid while riding along and I could hear it buzzing near my ear, so we pulled over I took my lid off and there was a wasp in there... bloody thing are a menace luckily I didnt get stung

Good grief! That is really a scary thought having a wasp that close to your eyes.

It's happened to me twice!...you wouldn't believe how quickly you can stop a bike unstrap your lid and throw it to the ground when you need to!

That reminds me.... couple of years ago ... me and swmbo were picking apples in our orchard (ok ok... we have 4 scabby trees in a weedy part of the garden that we laughingly call our orchard).. swmbo suddenly shrieked and ripped off her blouse and bra to reveal a nasty wasp sting....  ever since, i have been trying to train a tame wasp... 'cos its the fastest i've ever seen swmbo get her kit off since i told her (ok i lied) that Alfie Boe was coming up the drive (well, i say drive...  20 meters of manky gravel)....

Spare a thought for the poor wasp.

Can't see the problem meself <SNIF!>  8)

What's wrong with putting a neat bead of silicone bath sealant (matching colour, natch') around the lid-to-moosh joint before you go out? It'd only take a few seconds and it'd also usefully stop rain getting in during those lovely British summer rideouts.  If it stops water, it'll stop a wasp! 

You CAN get pink sealant, cant'cha? ;D
