Title: SRX400 gasket kits?
Post by: guest1186 on August 10, 2012, 10:22:36 PM
Hi, can anyone tell me who supplies a cheap aftermarket kit for this bike, or does it have to be genuine Yamaha. Thanks in advance Roy

I have searched for sometime for a "cheap aftermarket" set to no avail. You could possibly buy one for a 600 and use most of the side gaskets but for the cylinder head and base gaskets you will probably have to buy genuine.

Try searching for xt400 gasket kit, you will of course know that the SRX had muddy roots...

I tend to fit genuine head and base gaskets and use pattern gaskets for the rest.

Does anyone know if a SR500/XT500 head gasket will fit the SRX400 as shares the same bore size and a lot of the basic engine design?

If so wemoto.com sell gaskets that would fit.

If I am lucky enough to get my hands on a SRX400 engine i'll order a head gasket and try it unless someone has tried it already.
