Never heard of it. Am I too old?

From Wikipedia:
The first volume was initially released in 1990 and has had five more volumes for a total of six. The riders adventures were originally settled in 1975 Paris but their motorcycles were switched for more modern ones in some of the comics. The time setting is not really important, since the situations they encounter are timeless.
Currently, six volumes and a special are still published. The first and fifth album were made by Bar2, the other four albums were made by Fane.
Joe Bar Team featured briefly in the British magazine Super Bike

In France, and I imagine all around Europe, you can find aftermarket items :

Figurines :

Tee-shirts :

And I found an otter picture of the real bikes :

Cool! Wasn't there one strip where the police give an officer a tricked out BMW and he ends up just racing them instead of nicking them?

If we're playing cartoon tennis, here's my return shot:

I like to think I'm Ogri... but I suspect I'm Malcom

You are absolutely right ! And the policeman won the race !
What are the names of the characters ?
In France they all have "a play on word name".

Wow - some of those french strips look really cool!

I  liked Andy Sparrows "Bloodrunners" which appeared  in Bike magazine  in the 80's when they dropped Ogri.

I swear his images had a big influence on modern bike designs (OK so we didnt get the hub centre steering...)
