I wish to beg forgiveness from the collective and ask that my non-official status as TC bodger is retained despite my activities over the last few weeks. :-[
My non-thumper outfit has been in service for the commute due to a bit of ice and the fact my new brake system makes it so much fun. I have however noticed an increase in fuel consumption. Ever the one to fiddle I've checked the valves, the fluids, the exhaust, bought a compresion tester, cleaned the swine of an air filter, spun the wheels, examined the brakes for binding. I've even bought branded fuel frome somewhere whose main business isn't bread and soap powder. No joy :'(
This afternoon I made a discovery. In the first ten days doing nothing but going to work by the same route I did 182 miles over 2 tanks. In the next five days with a two mile run to the post office I did 73 miles on one tank. Today my 18 mile round trip was 18 miles by the odometer but only 3 by the trip meter. I bet I can get closer to half than 1/10th of a gallon in. 3 miles on half a gallon is the worst figure yet, 6 mpg :o
I therefore hang my head in shame :-[ beg the forgiveness of the collective ;) and curse the Kraut toe-rag who's plastic gears or dodgy soldering is no doubt at the cause of this >:(

No no no, they don't build their own bikes, they have guest workers for that, a bit like cafe staff, tradesmen and seasonal workers over here.
Now curse the quality control worthy, by all means - and the penance is you will have to ride the MZ ;D
Drop me a PM I have a question for you

When this one was built it'd be mullet hair styles and listening to Kraftwerk in Munich. Think it's VDO so could be Italian. ;D
As one myself, I will hear nothing against the quality engineers. I think I read somewhere that Quality stems from the attitude and performance of the whole workforce and cannot be inspected into an unsuitable system. That is my story and I'm sticking to it >:( ;D ;D
