Watched Anthony Hopkins memorable portrayal (IMHO) of Burt Munro in the Worlds Fastest Indian today....still get a bit lump in my throat watching this film.....
Ian :)
(Was anyone else touched by it, or am I getting soft in my old age?)

It got me too when I watched it,but then I'm of a similar age ;)
Brilliant film!

If you ride an Indian you too sure get some lumps but not in the throat, or may be yes when you have to pay for original parts (speedo and drive 2000 dollars)

Fantastic film, some think it to be one of Anthony Hopkins best performances. Also according to Bert Munro's family a pretty accurate record of what happened - unusually for Hollywood. The thing I find most amazing along with the story is that his records still stand for streamlined, under 1000cc naturally aspirated motor cycles..an amazing bloke.

Lovely, but I can't see how it's so expensive. :P

Good film, though Hopkins accent is a bit odd.

I have to say that I also thought it was one of Hopkins' best performances. I suspect he enjoyed being able to let out the 'boyo' in him for a change.

I thought it was nice that s/he was just treated like another character and not with the "ha-ha look at the freak" approach so beloved of hollywood/the media.
Who knows, maybe in the future they'll protray "bikers" as normal people with normal lives..?
;)

Great film, went to see it with #1 son.... cinema was full of bikers... and afterwards the pub next door had the same bikers in it, far as i could tell everyone enjoyed it immensely.

"Burt, what happens if you open your mouth at such a speed"
"A big hole in your trousers"
:) :D ;D
It sounds like this in the french version. I don't know if it is the same in the original version but this is one of the most funny dialogue of the movie industry.

A brilliant film,a most inspirational film, showing grit , determination, and vision of an individual ,when everyone else is saying "no". A film I watched one day to lift my spirit after being diagnosed with stress.
A truly great film.
