Title: DR600 ???
Post by: guest1380 on October 21, 2011, 11:12:38 AM
Does anyone have or have had experience with Suzuki's DR600 or SP600?

I had a DR800SM in the past which I loved and if it wasn't for redundancy at the time i'd still own. (bike or roof over head choice, it was a close call).

The reason i'm asking is because i've found a tatty SP600 with bits and pieces missing and was wondering if it would be the ideal engine for my Cagiva frame. Main thing of note though is that it's a pre-electric boot model.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Steve

I had a DR600 for about 6yrs and it ended up with about 40,000 miles on it, I liked it and it done me well and I only sold it because I bought a Rotax engined CCM.
Its not a difficult engine to kick over, I never had any starting issues with mine.

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know it's not to hard to kick over as trail bikes tend to be easier to kick over than sports bikes with the same engine in just because of the angles involved with kicking and holding onto the bike.
Being six foot tall, standing to kick the engine over and reaching down to the bars gets a bit further away than a off roader.  ;)
