Title: Hot (tuned) cam info
Post by: guest1380 on October 19, 2011, 08:41:42 AM
Hi all.

Came across this US web site many moons ago and have rediscovered it again after cleaning up the favourites on my old lap top.

These guys do performance cams in the states for all kinds of bikes including singles and some older British and Italian bikes as well as others too.

The best bit is that they list the cam specs and usually the original factory stock cam specs too which could come in handy at times.

Anyone know of any companies in the UK that build cams to order?

I haven't used them myself, but this firm were recommended elsewhere on the site. Assuming they're still around.

Cheers Steve,

I'll check them out once my wallet has more than IOUs in it.

Phi Joy does (did?) good work. Kent camshafts do some bike cams but you'll probably need to talk to them. There is another place in Farnborough, Kent but I've no personal experience of them. Piper may still do some classic stuff as well.

I've bought cams from Megacycle in the past. They're wonderfully old fashioned in as much as you wait until you have the right time zone then ring them up, make your order then go to the bank and get a cheque made out for the amount in dollars, post it off and wait.
I've also used Phil Joy for a cam regrind on on of his cams that I bought tarnished.
Recommend them both.
